Tahoe Resorts Add Millions in New Lifts, Trails and Lodges. TahoesBest.com Reveals The Best Additions of 2013

This year, several ski resorts have added millions in improvements. TahoesBest.com reveals the 3 ski resorts that got have added the most bang for their buck since last year.

Lake Tahoe ski resorts attract thousands of new and returning skiers every season. Every year, each ski resort hopes to attract more skiers than the year before, and this year, there are 3 resorts that have caught the eye of TahoesBest.com for their numerous improvements.

Squaw Valley
They are currently in year 2 of their "Renaissance," which when completed (expected 2015/16) both Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows will have received about $70 million in improvements.
The new Big Blue Express is a 6-passenger high-speed lift will be replacing the High Camp Chair lift, extending up to the top of the Shirley Lake ridgeline. The lift is going to be faster than its predecessor, but even better, it will also provide beginner and intermediate skiers access to areas that were previously not attainable. Squaw Valley has also invested in new air/water guns, replaced fan guns, pumps and compressors and has installed new monitoring equipment that will significantly improve the snow making this season. The Burton Learn to Ride center is also partnering with Squaw Valley this year. This program offers equipment designed specifically for beginners of all ages to make learning easier from the start.
The nearby Squaw Valley Lodge has recently announced a new Ski & Stay Package which includes two complimentary 2-day lift tickets to Squaw Valley USA.

Northstar California
Northstar has been open since mid-November, but also for the past 40 years! Much like many 40 year olds these days, they've made some improvements. $30 Million worth of improvements. For those who have yet to witness how far $30 million in improvements goes in a ski resort, head over to Northstar.
Expect to see a new high-speed chairlift and 2 new intermediate trails on the Backside of the mountain calling the names of all skiers looking to improve their skill this season. There will be new dining on the mountain at the Zephyr Lodge and a new 22-foot Superpipe designed by Shaun White. And what's a season without a new Burton addition? This year, Northstar California is partnering with Burton Snowboard Academy to add Riglet Park, a new feature designed especially for the 3-6 year old kids learning to snowboard.
Those who plan on attending Northstar's 40th Anniversary Bash hosted by Shaun White might benefit from checking out this year's new specials at the Village at Northstar to save on a Tahoe getaway.

Heavenly Ski Resort
Heavenly has revealed the new Tamarack Lodge with 15,000 square feet of 750 indoor and outdoor dining options. The lodge is located at the top of the Gondola, but if guests aren't hungry up there, ski down and enjoy the new BaseCamp pizza at the base of the Gondola. Tamarack Lodge is just icing on the cake to the additional $30 million Heavenly has invested in recent upgrades to Adventure Peak, including lift-served tubing lanes, snowbikes and a new adventure zone.
