Mark Twain said, "To obtain the air the angels breathe, you
must go to Tahoe."
Heavenly, besides reaching into the sky, reaches into your soul. It's 10,100 feet of
exhilaration, the highest elevation of any resort at Lake Tahoe. The views rivet you.
You'll find 4,800 skiable acres. The most vertical feet in the region. 29 lifts that take you to
84 runs. Hair-raising steeps.
Powder-filled bowls. Picture book tree runs. Wide-open, groomed boulevards. In other
words, challenges await, no matter what your skill level. |
One third of this mountain gives
envelope-pushers a place to push themselves. While the other two-thirds offers beginners
and intermediates excellent terrain to have fun with while honing their skills. Weather?
How about 76% sunny days and 360 inches of snow in a season.
A mountain so big it has to be seen to be believed. And even then you won't believe it.
Heavenly and South Lake Tahoe have embarked on a new era. With the addition of
the new Heavenly gondola (expected to be completed December, 2000),
skiers and riders can now start their ski day directly from a new fourth base
facility, located in downtown South Shore. Heavenly skiers and riders can now
enjoy walking access to the mountain from more than 5,000 rooms. Traveling 2.4
miles in eleven minutes and 45 seconds, the new gondola will be California's
longest ski gondola, and with 138 cabins (carrying 8 passengers each), will also
have the most uphill carrying capacity of any gondola in the state. This
2000/2001 season also includes two new ski runs, a new
Learn-to-Ski/Snowboard area and a 14,000-square-foot mid station observation
deck. Additional lifts and a new lodge and restaurant at the top of the
gondola are scheduled to be built during the summer of 2001.

be a little more "stiff" to offer all around mountain
stability.
-
Prestige Packages

'steep and deep' and demands high performance gear. Options include shape
skis, powder skis, race skis and mogul skis.
Learn to Ski & Ride
Maybe you've never stepped foot on a mountain before. Or, maybe you think you
have the motor skills of the average three year-old. Truth is, it really doesn't
matter. Because when you join the Perfect Turn® program, you'll learn to ski or
ride, Guaranteed. Our friendly pros start by outfitting you with state-of
-the-art skiing and riding equipment. From there, they take you through a
carefully planned, step-by-step program that will teach you all of the basics.
Learn-to-Ski...Easy as 1-2-3 and guaranteed.
We take the fundamentals and combine them in a three-day package. These
three-clinics will teach you to walk, slide, turn, slow down and stop in a
"wedge". Then you'll learn to control your speed by linking your turns. Finally,
you'll learn to turn both skis in the same direction and execute tighter turns,
controlling your speed while skiing the trails. We guarantee it or your next
clinic is free.

you're not having fun. That's why we've designed our Perfect Kids™ program
with one primary goal: having fun. Each day our coaches will take your
child, along with other kids of similar age and skill level, out on the
mountain. We'll show them how to have a great time in the outdoors in a
positive relaxed atmosphere.
Children Ski and Snowboard School Programs
We have specially trained pros who enjoy and choose to work with children.
Our first priority is for your child to have fun and enjoy snowsports and in
the process we're going to sneak in some skill development (but that'll be
our little secret). The pros are committed to creating a learning
environment that is supported and delivered in a caring approach. Basically,
the kid's come away with the feeling like they've spent the day on a
snow-covered playground.
Our recommended program is all-day, which is generally 5 hours. However,
slope time, terrain selection will vary based on daily conditions, snow
surface and our coaches judgment.
