TahoesBest.com names the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival and the Lake Tahoe SummerFest Concerts as two must-see performances at the lake this summer.

This July and August, Lake Tahoe will welcome some of the top orchestral, chamber, and theater performers to Tahoe this summer to enthrall audience members of all ages.

The Shakespeare Festival presents the mischievous fairies in the theater production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” along with other captivating performances by the Reno Jazz Orchestra and rock coverband Mrs.Robinson. As for the SummerFest Concerts, top soloists from some of the most renowned stages of the world will put on unforgettable performances as well.

Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival

The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival has outdone itself this year with its upcoming performance of the Shakespeare’s classic, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The theater performers have transformed this humorous tale into a rock ‘n’ roll inspired production that takes place during the 1960’s in London, England.

The romantic comedy will be sure to include all of the hysterical mistaken identities and star crossed lovers along with those notorious trouble causing fairies. It’s a captivating stage performance that will surely entertain audience members of all ages while providing a perfect introduction to Shakespeare for the children.

The Shakespeare Festival will also welcome performances from the well-renowned Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, the Reno Chamber Orchestra, and the Sierra Nevada Ballet, among other impressive acts.

This festival runs from July 12, 2013, through August 25, 2013, at Sand Harbor State Park.

Lake Tahoe SummerFest Concerts

The SummerFest Concerts in Lake Tahoe promise performances from some of the top musicians in the world. This concert series in Tahoe welcomes soloists from some of the world’s top orchestras such as the Leipzig Gewandhaus, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

The SummerFest in Lake Tahoe also includes dedicated nights, including orchestra concerts on Friday evenings, chamber music on Saturday evenings, and family concerts on Sunday afternoons. Children will love the kid friendly performances with concerts and narrators such as the “Tale of the Hermitage Cats” with Chris Brubeck, and “Peter and the Wolf” with Jennifer Koh.

This spectacular musical event will run from August 2, 2013, through August 18, 2013, at the Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village.
