The Lake Tahoe Humane Society and S.P.C.A. are celebrating 40 years of caring service to the animals and people of the Greater Lake Tahoe Basin and visitors from around the world. “Together, we can ‘Keep Tahoe Kind’!” is the signature for outreach and education programs promoting respect for all life and our shared habitat.

Community programs include shelter adoptions through Pet of the Week and other features; senior visitation and help to maintain family pets; Prevent-A-Litter spay-neuter subsidy; emergency veterinary assistance and pet food bank; teacher and student support to nurture kindness and compassion; mutual and disaster aid; animal rescue networking; problem solving for domestic animals and wildlife; advocacy for animal welfare, nonviolence and cruelty prevention. In addition, the Lake Tahoe Humane Society and S.P.C.A. is the “go to” resource for local pet play, pet services and like information.
