North Lake Tahoe Snowboarding Guide

Check out all of the best Lake Tahoe snowboard parks north of that huge lake we love so much.

Our Lake Tahoe Snowboarding Guide wouldn't be complete without mentioning all of the Lake Tahoe snow parks in North Lake Tahoe. These places have the powder, the challenge, and the fun that boarders hunt for.

  • Boreal Ski Resort: The indoor bmx/skate/parkour/trampoline park at Boreal will have dare devils jumping up and down with excitement - literally! The resort is on the smaller side so you can also get more affordable lift tickets, making this one of the best Lake Tahoe ski resorts with terrain parks for those looking to save some money in Tahoe.
  • Alpine Meadows Ski Resort: For boarders looking for a more rustic and natural snow experience, you can't beat Alpine Meadows. Not only does this park have great terrain, but it also has an open boundary policy that opens the mountain to everyone.
  • Diamond Peak Ski Resort: Diamond Peak emphasises good family fun and great snow experiences. Often with little to no crowds and lots of fun, easy runs, this place is a great resort for beginning and intermediate snowboarders, or a mixed group. More advanced snowboarders will love the gorgeous Lake Tahoe views.
  • Mt. Rose Ski Resort: With the highest base elevation of all the resorts in Tahoe and over 60 trails, snowboarders of all levels can find something fun and inspiring to do at this ski resort.

Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort

Tons of rails, mellow vibe and fun terrain - Northstar has great snowboarding in Lake Tahoe.

South Lake Tahoe Snowboarding Guide

These South Lake Tahoe snowboarding resorts are everything a boarder could hope for and are also in a great location.

Hit these slopes and then cozy up by a slot machine in a South Lake Tahoe casino! Well, that's what our Lake Tahoe Snowboarding Guide suggests, anyway.

  • Heavenly Ski Resort: Move over skiers, Heavenly has it made for snowboarders with terrain parks, yards of powder and full-mountain access for snowboarders! This place is really geared toward more advanced boarders looking for an intense ride and there aren't very many beginner runs at Heavenly, so make sure you're up for a thrill before heading here.
  • Kirkwood Ski Resort: This ski resort isn't a great destination for beginners but more experience skiers will feel like they've found the ultimate Lake Tahoe snowboarding jackpot. Kirkwood has great natural terrain, drops, chutes, and a great terrain park called Stomping Grounds.
  • Sierra-at-Tahoe: Don't despair, beginner snowboarders! Sierra-at-Tahoe is known for its excellent beginner runs including a beginner terrain park section. There are also great challenging runs for more experienced boarders so Sierra-at-Tahoe is a great place for a mixed group to go and have fun.

Sugar Bowl Ski Resort

It's called a sugar bowl for a reason, this place has sweet powder that's perfect for snowboarding in Lake Tahoe.
