Cheap hotel in a great location!
For the price and location, it’s a great deal! Don’t expect to be staying at the Marriott or anything. This is just a tiny little hotel, with more of a classy motel type feel. But it’s nice. The rooms are alright. They come with a fireplace and a kitchenette, which is especially convenient in the winter. The staff is really nice and you can even bring your pet if you want.
Although, the best thing about it is if you come in the winter, you can walk over to the gondola at Heavenly to go skiing. It’s literally right across the street, so you can just walk across the street with your skis. I really loved that. Plus, it makes parking really convenient, which is free at Big Pines by the way. It’s also just a quick walk to restaurants, casinos and a grocery store. No car necessary.
I think it was about $40 a night. Quite the steal for the awesome location and decent accommodations. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a bargain hotel in Lake Tahoe.
