As this winter 2013 - 2014 slowly comes to an end everyone lookings towards the sky in hope of another last minute snow storm, and this year Mother Nature has granted it to us! Last week’s snow storm brought up to 5ft in higher elevations, leaving the slopes with fresh powder dumped on the ski resorts and perfect snow conditions for spring skiing.  That's the good news!  The not so good news is it's the time of year we are start asking "what are the closiong dates for the skit resorts?" But first...

The forecast says sun, and the slopes say snow, so there is no better time than now to hit the slopes (and the porch for a long, extended lunch) for a last minute ski/snowboarding trip to Lake Tahoe. So get up to the mountains and enjoy the great conditions before the ski resorts close for the season.

When do ski resorts in Lake Tahoe close this season 2014:

Alpine Meadows: April 27

Boreal Mountain Resort: April 20

Diamond Peak Ski Resort: April 13

Heavenly Lake Tahoe: April 20

Homewood Mountain Resort: Closed

Kirkwood Ski Resort: April 27

Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe: April 20

Northstar California™ Resort: April 20

Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort: April 20

Squaw Valley: April 27, with weekends open until mid May

Most ski resorts have about 50% of lifts currently open, and snow conditions are generally good due to last week’s storm. For a full list of places to access snow reports visit http://www.tahoesbest.com/Skiing/skireports.htm.

While the ski/snowboard season is coming to a close, there are still incredible ways to take advantage of our favorite season in Lake Tahoe - spring! Get outside and enjoy the crisp mountain air by doing some hiking, biking or relaxing by the lakefront and enjoying the spectacular views of Lake Tahoe’s blooming spring.
