Lake Tahoe is around 1,645 ft deep, making it the largest alpine lake in the United States. And with that much volume, just imagine how many fish are swimming in that water! If you’re looking to try your luck at catching one of the many Tahoe fish, Mile High Fishing & Lodging is the place to go to reel in a big one.

USCG Licensed Captain Joby Cefalu of Mile High Fishing & Lodging invites both seasoned and first-time anglers onto his charters for an exciting fishing trip on his 2013 21-foot Jetcraft. Captain Joby has over 30 years of experience fishing on Lake Tahoe, and he’s somewhat of a fish whisper, as he boasts a 90% success rate with catches on his charters!

Mile High Fishing & Lodging is a family run business that focuses on light tackle jig and toplining fishing techniques for reeling in supper. Captain Joby has mastered these skills and teaches others how to catch prized Kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, and mackinaw. And if one technique just doesn’t seem to do the trick for you, Captain Joby is happy to help find you a different way that better fits your fishing style.

This Tahoe fishing company features charters and private trips, which start between 5:30 and 8:00 am depending on the season. You can sign up for a short four-to-five hour charter or a six to seven hour charter for a full-day experience, but Captain Joby also offers private trips for guests who want some one-on-one instruction. And for those who don’t eat fish, but still want to learn the art of fishing, the Mile High Fishing & Lodging provides a catch and release charter as well. Each trip includes bait and tackle, beverages, and the tour company will even whip you up one of their famous breakfast burritos upon request.

After a peaceful and scenic trip on the lake, the Tahoe charter company helps you package up your trophies of the day. Not only will the Mile High Fishing & Lodging crew clean your catch of the day and vacuum-pack it for you, but they’ll also offer to freeze it for you until you plan on departing Tahoe. There’s no doubt that this Tahoe fishing charter goes above and beyond to accommodate and ensure that guests have an unforgettable experience out on the water!

Note: Guests of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join Captain Joby on a fishing tour around the lake, but anglers over the age of 16 must purchase a fishing license, which you can buy online. One-day licenses are available as well.
