DO NOT USE RED AWNING! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS.
I booked A Lake Tahoe cottage at the start of May, 2015 based on its location and price. I booked nearly three months in advance in order to get the best deal. The cottage looked ideal: it was 3 blocks from the beach and the total for 4 nights was $1,050. I reached out to Red Awning right after I booked to confirm the reservation and the address. I received no response to my two inquiries, but I didn't think that was a big deal.
Ten days before our trip I received the leasing info from Red Awning. The address of the cottage DID NOT MATCH what was on the website. Instead of being 3 blocks from the beach, the cottage was 3 MILES from the beach. It took 14 hours to get a response from Red Awning. Finally their response was that I could pay more for a different rental or I could get a refund. They did not care that I had my parents flying 3,000 miles for vacation. They did not care that the error was theirs. They made ABSOLUTELY NO EFFORT TO MAKE ME WHOLE. I took a full refund and we had to change our entire vacation at the last minute.
The customer service at Red Awning are fools. They were going to lose $1,050 no matter what. Rather than making an effort to find a place for us to enjoy our vacation as promised and making up the price difference, they decided to leave me dissatisfied and refund my money. I will never, ever rent from them again. You shouldn't either.
