Ahoy, me Hearties! The 20th Annual Valhalla Renaissance Faire in South Lake Tahoe has kicked off to a tremendous start! Last weekend was the first weekend of this event with a "Scottish Invasion" Theme. This weekend is pirate and barbarian themed, so dress like your favorite outlaw pirate and plunder yourself some fun.

Friday, June 8th is Family Day at the Renaissance Fair in South Lake Tahoe. All Land Lubbers are invited to bring their little lassies to play at the best renaissance fair this side of the lake! Camp Richardson plays host to this annual event and will be featuring: four stages of live entertainment, live jousting, over 900 costumed actors, and interactive 360 theater, 100 shops with specialty items and exclusive artistic creations and much, much more!

A meager 17 doubloons for adults, $12 for seniors and teenagers and $7 for lads and lasses 6-12  gains entrance into the festival grounds where you can take part in all the hoopla.Weekend passes for adults are also available for $25, if you plan on spending more than one day at the fair. Tiny tikes under the age of six are FREE! Don your Jolly Roger and set sail to Lake Tahoe this weekend for some pirate booty.

At this year's Lake Tahoe renaissance faire, check out the scavenger hunts, costume contests and talk like a pirate competitions to see if you have what it takes to be a pirate, or if you are more suited to Davey Jones' Locker!

The Valhalla Renaissance Fair in Tahoe is a great opportunity for you and your kids to learn about what life was like in the past by experiencing live action reenactments as well as people who specialize in crafts and skills from the period. The marketplace is by far one of the most interesting areas with arts and crafts and hands-on entertainment.

Don't be a Son of a Biscuit Eater! Weigh anchor and hoist the mizzen! Put three sheets to the wind and head straight for Tahoe, or spend the rest of your summer sleeping with the fishes and wishing you had.
