Kids and Lake Tahoe go together like peanut butter and jelly… it can get messy but it’s meant to be. With snow on the way, be sure to take advantage of all the exciting activities for kids in Lake Tahoe. Whether it’s a first time trip, or the kids know it as the annual vacation location, some things never get old. Grab a sled and rediscover the kid in you with these incredible kid friendly things to do in Lake Tahoe!

Sleigh Ride

An all time Lake Tahoe family favorite, horse drawn sleigh and carriage rides always have kids jumping for joy. Join in on the Lake Tahoe winter fun with a sleigh ride that has kids talking about the magic for months to come. Sleighs have blankets, so bundle up with the kids and enjoy the scenery.

Ice Skating

Strap on those skates and enjoy the rinks! Heavenly Village Ice Rink (outdoor), The Resort at Squaw Creek (outdoor), Truckee Ice Rink (outdoor), or the South Tahoe Ice Arena (indoor) are all great options for fun filled afternoons or skating. The kids seem to be better than the adults most of the time!

Skiing/Snowboarding

Everyone knows that Lake Tahoe is known for its incredible downhill (and cross country) skiing, so get the kids on the slopes this year and enjoy the mountains. Ski resorts have ski and snowboard packages for all levels. Try Heavenly Sports in South Lake Tahoe for winter deals on adult and children ski rentals.

Helicopter Ride

This is one of those activities that the kids will never forget. Reno Tahoe Helicopters offers views of the Lake from the sky, and the kids will be dreaming of being helicopter pilots. Nothing is more memorable than a helicopter ride in Lake Tahoe.

Festival of Trees

Taking place in December, Festival of Trees presents its annual event again this winter! Kids can come and write last minute letters to Santa, and do the “Teddy Bear Hospital.” Be sure to come for Lake Tahoe family night.
