Surprisingly really awesome food!

The Cal Neva is really an interesting place to say the least. There’s a ton of history here and the hotel has mixed reviews, but surprisingly enough, their restaurant, the Lake View Dining Room, has excellent food!

We had just checked in to the hotel and were starving, so we ate here for lunch. The actual restaurant is only open for dinner, so we sat at the hotel’s circle bar where they serve their food for lunch. First of all, the bartender was really strange. Randomly, I had a huge craving for buffalo wings, which I ordered. He immediately told me that he didn’t like them and that they were too hot. It was just the way he said it that was weird. I said I like spicy food and still wanted them. He kept trying to tell me to order something else, very weird. I stuck with the buffalo wings, and I’m glad I did. They were delicious! Like surprisingly good. I also ordered a chicken sandwich that was really good too, but it was too much food and I couldn’t finish it all. My friend’s food was great too! The server was very odd for most of the meal (there are too many details to write), but we had a 50% appetizer coupon (the real reason I wanted the wings) but he gave us 50% off our entire meal! I dunno why, but we’ll take it!

The bar is a really casual setting, but the restaurant is way more fining dining and it has beautiful views overlooking the lake. I would have loved to eat in there, but never did. If the food was as good as what we were served, I’m sure it’s even better at night.

Surprisingly, this is a place I’d definitely recommend and would go back to. It’s really good food at affordable prices.
