Sierra at Tahoe

Red Ski at Morning Sailors take Warning - Skiers Rejoice! - Click to ZoomSierra at Tahoe is situated 12 miles west of South Lake Tahoe on U.S. Highway 50. Three mountainsides make up this wind-protected resort: The Base Area, The Backside and The West Bowl, including one of Tahoe's longest runs, Sugar-n-Spice, 2˝ miles long.

A letter from the G.M.

Howdy Snowsporters,

Recently, Snow Country Magazine readers rated Sierra-at-Tahoe the top resort in the far west for on-mountain food, all-around value and employee service. (Okay, so I'm bragging a bit. But, hey, I'm really proud of this place.) You see, up here at Sierra-at-Tahoe, we take tremendous pride in our service. From the second you strap on your stick(s) to the moment you're driving home, we want to make sure your entire family is having a great time. So, if something's not going quite right, come and talk to us. We'll do our best to make it right. Thanks again for choosing Sierra-at-Tahoe.

--John Rice G.M., Sierra-at-Tahoe

NEW for 2000/2001What's New

This season, Sierra-at-Tahoe is putting more energy into its freestyle terrain features than ever before. With the addition of a snowskate park, a fourth terrain park, 15 new rails and increased snowmaking capabilities on its 17-foot Superpipe, Sierra's terrain park staff is committed to delivering a unique freestyle playground unlike any other in Lake Tahoe.

Ranked in Transworld Snowboarding's 2002 Park and Pipe Survey as one of the Top-Ten Halfpipes in North America, Sierra-at-Tahoe has proven it is worthy of national prominence in the freestyle arena- a position the resort values and will continue to reinforce throughout the upcoming season.

Booth Creek Resorts brought well-known terrain park designer Chris "Gunny" Gunnarson on board this season, to have a hand in designing all of Sierra's parks, pipes and snowskate parks. His expertise and guidance have been used to lead high profile, professional snowboard events worldwide including the ESPN Winter X Games, World Championships of Snowboarding, and the Burton European Open. President and founder of Snow Park Technologies, his knowledge of cutting-edge terrain park technology will be an asset to a resort that has long been Tahoe's best kept secret for freeride skiers and riders.
