During the 2000/2001 Season, Sugar Bowl increased their snowmaking capabilities to cover 20% of the mountain - guaranteeing good early season conditions and has also developed a world class racing and training facility. The site will be used as the primary training facility for Sugar Bowl Ski Team and as a secondary training site during early and late season for a number of international squads, as well as hosting national, regional and club events.
Sugar Bowl has always been a place where families can spend quality time together. And the recent Mt. Judah expansion has made it even easier for families to access the "Bowl," as well as, adding great intermediate terrain for everyone. The new road into the base area, matched with the classic
and EXPANDED Mountain Lodge at Mt. Judah, has pushed Sugar Bowl to the forefront as one of the most desirable resorts for families to visit.

CLOSER IS BETTER... You don't have to go far for some of the choicest skiing and boarding in the Sierras. Sugar Bowl is right off Interstate 80, on the west side of Donner Summit. So while others face an extra hour of bumper-to-bumper grind to those less convenient Tahoe resorts, you can be flying up and down our slopes. For family traveling, anyone with kids knows that more time on the slopes and less time in the car, is the ideal way to spend a family vacation.
THERE'S PLENTY OF MOUNTAIN TO GO AROUND... There's something for everybody. From experts to beginners. Skiers to boarders. Adults to kids. Imagine serious steeps, groomed cruisers, tree-dotted glades, wide-open bowls, a sweet terrain park and pipe, and a fun new beginner area. The variety of terrain is unlike any mountain you can find this close to home.
