Sugar Bowl Resort, now in its 69th season of operation, obviously enjoys a rich history and a storied past. Home to the first chairlift in California and the first gondola in the country, Sugar Bowl has long been referred to as "the grand dame" of Tahoe skiing. Known for impressive terrain and deep powder – over 500" annually, the most in Tahoe – you'll experience 1,500 acres of steeps and cruisers, four picturesque mountain peaks serviced by twelve lifts including three high-speed quads, and three day lodges with spectacular sun decks. Enjoy wonderful indoor/outdoor dining, awesome views of the jutting mountain peaks and legendary barbecues under the California sun on the deck.
Another constant at Sugar Bowl is the friendly character of the staff, pleased to be a part of such a great resort and happy to let it show in their daily duties. An attention to the guest experience ensures a memorable visit, with the ultimate motto at Sugar Bowl being "More fun. Less hassle". |

To compliment the already impressive snowfall, Sugar Bowl operates snowmaking capabilities to cover nearly 500 acres – almost 1/3 of the mountain – guaranteeing quality early-season conditions. They have also developed a world class racing and training facility, acting as the primary training facility for Sugar Bowl Ski Team, a secondary training site during early and late season for a number of international squads, and host to numerous national, regional and club events throughout the season.
Sugar Bowl has always been a place where families can spend quality time together, and the Mt. Judah expansion has made it even easier for families to access the "Bowl". Hundred of slopeside parking spots ensure you spend more time on the mountain, and less time getting there. The Judah day Lodge is an ideal place to take a break and take it all in, complete with impressive menus and active apres.
