Story of Graham's at Squaw Valley

If you're like most people, you probably picture Squaw Valley as a winter wonderland, blanketed with snow and filled with skiers. What you may not realize is that the valley is just as lovely during Summer months and there's a wider variety of things to do: hiking, horseback riding, golf, tennis, swimming and mountain biking for starters. If you add getting married to the list, the Christ Inn and it's on-site restaurant, Graham's, may be just the place to help you take advantage of all that Squaw Valley has to offer.

Built over 50 years ago as the valley's first home, the Inn is now two separate entities, a lodge and restaurant, under one roof. Weddings take place in the restaurant or on the grounds and guests can stay overnight in the Inn. The expansive lawn next to the Inn is a sunny spot for an alpine ceremony. Bordered by tall pines on one end, it over looks tree-studded mountains on the other. The large redwood deck adjacent to the restaurant is covered by an awning and glassed in and can be heated on cool nights. It's perfect for post-event cocktails, a small reception or dancing, while the restaurant itself provides an intimate ambiance for larger parties.

With it's peaked pine ceiling and floor to ceiling river rock fireplace, Graham's feels a bit like a cozy mountain lodge. Graham's has skylights and picture windows that fill the room with soft ambient light all afternoon. At night, firelight and candlelight cast their own warm glow. A changing art display and white table linens are sophisticated complements to the interiors rustic elements.
