THE ART & CRAFT OF CONTEMPORARY SAUCES

Chef-Instructor Lars Kronmark - Culinary Institute of America
A class taught by the master, Chef Lars Kronmark. Explore restaurant style sauces for the home chef and re-create that experience your own kitchen. Sauce recipes and tastings from around the world prepared with fresh stocks, seasonal ingredients, cream and other goodness and a splash of humor all paired with fine wines of St. Supery.

A RUSTIC AUTUMN DINNER

Chef Joseph Keller - Bouchon, Napa, and Como's Lake Las Vegas
Get ready for some high energy and tasty fun in the kitchen with Chef Keller as he prepares a classic autumn dish of rack of venison with classic side dishes and sauces. Learn the techniques for seasoning: salts, olive oils and herbs. This is slow food at it's finest paired with Long Vineyards 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2003 Sangiovese.

GRGICH HILLS WINERY CHARDONNAY VERTICAL - $35/ticket

Grgich Hills Chardonnays are traditionally made with some potential bottle aging in mind. These wines regularly receive ratings of 90+ (out of a possible 100 points). Join Ivo in a vertical tasting of the 1999 Napa Valley, 2000 Napa Valley, 2001 Carneros Selection, and a barrel sample of the 2003 Carneros Selection.

DUCKHORN VINEYARDS 25TH ANNIVERSARY LUNCHEON - $65/ticket
Celebrate at this exclusive luncheon prepared by Duckhorn Winery Chef Erica Heinemann and hosted by Duckhorn COO Alex Ryan. The multi-course luncheon features a retrospective tasting of Duckhorn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon up to and including a 2003 barrel sample. If you love Cab, you have to come to this!

Join Kim Caffrey, the Pinot Noir poster child, as she takes you on a tasting tour through various appellations of California, experiencing the ethereal pleasures of 2002 Pinot Noirs, including a couple of surprises! Impress others with your newly gleaned Pinot prowess through techniques guaranteed to increase your sensory verbiage.

BLAZING PANS MOUNTAIN CHEF COOK-OFF - $35/ticket
Reigning Mountain Chef Mark Estee of Moody's Bistro defends his title against Chef Lee Kresy from Sunnyside Resort in the 2nd Annual Cook-Off. The heat builds in the kitchen as they compete in all out display of their exceptional culinary skill and talent mixed with a lot of laughs. Marko K. and Charbay Vodka treat you to the newest cocktail in the Charbay line up.
3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
THE WINES OF SOUTH AFRICA - THE NEW WAVE - $35/ticket
Phil Huettenhain, Black Diamond Wine Exchange
Thanks to cooling ocean breezes and high-altitude vineyards, South African winemakers are able to counter their country's heat and bottle some impressive wines. This tasting and lively discussion include award winning, affordable, fun wines from the Stellenbosch region: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinotage, Shiraz, and more.

Join two time Autumn Food & Wine Gold Medal Winners (Desserts) in the kitchen as they prepare the perfect fall desserts: Apple Harvest Gateau, Chocolate Bread Pudding with Crème Anglaise, and Classic Italian Sabayon with Marsala. Mmmmmmmm....paired with a variety of Beringer Wine Estates dessert wines.

Guided by Marko K, Charbay continues rising to fame in the luxury spirits market. Celebrate the launch of Charbay's handmade, limited production (400 cases) spirit; Tahitian Vanilla Bean Rum and Charbay Clear Rum, a triple copper pot distilled rum. Marko will fire up the afternoon with a sensational variety of rum cocktail recipes.

The vendors at the Marketplace welcome you with a glass of wine, tasty samples and unique shopping that will ease you into the evening events and dinners.

Our Autumn Food & Wine Star Chefs Joseph Keller, Lars Kronmark, Jacques Cornelis and Adrian Frutos invite you to their special four-course dinner with perfect wine pairings. SATURDAY AFTERNOON WINE WALK
The Town of Truckee presents its Inaugural Wine Walk, where you sip, stroll and shop at the many unique shops, galleries, restaurants and merchants the town offers. Enjoy live music and the old West flavor of Historic Downtown Truckee. Tickets available at selected locations in Truckee.

CULINARY COMPETITION & GRAND TASTING - $60.00 thru Sept 30, $75.00 at the door
The Grand Tasting features the food and wine pairings of over 35 of Lake Tahoe's finest restaurants, caterers paired with world-class wineries. This is an incredible opportunity to sample the culinary and winemaking talents of those Chef's and wineries you always wanted to try, including Tahoe's newest restaurants! Discover new, groundbreaking wines and wineries on Vineyard Row.

In the Culinary Competition, the winery enters a single varietal and vintage of wine to be poured. Each Chef prepares his most inspired dish to pair with the wine. Each pairing is submitted to a panel of food and wine industry experts who taste and rate each entry in a blind judging. Each guest will have the opportunity to taste all of the pairings and cast their ballot for their favorites in the coveted Peoples Choice Awards.

LIVE WINE AND AUCTION RAFFLE
Join the fast paced bidding for the famous Wheelbarrow of Wine and additional auction lots. Every wine poured at the Grand Tasting is included in the wheelbarrow. The bidding reaches a feverish pace as the gavel comes down for the final bid.
