Zephyr Cove Stables offers an exploration of the beauty, tranquility and rugged wilderness of the Sierras in Lake Tahoe. As you embark on your guided journey through the National Forest, you and your four legged companion will learn to move as one as you saunter through the trails.

        • An easy ride for Mom and Dad, but exciting for the kids, through wooded trails, across Taylor Creek and back to a western steak barbecue.
      • Wagon Ride - Tall timber wagon ride
        • Special Steak Wagon Rides can be arranged
      • Snow Pack
        • They'll pack you to a back country spot of your choice and return to pack you out on a day of your choice
      • Overnight Pack Trip - Everything included*
        • A horseback trip for two days and one night to a high country lake. Fish, relax or ride.
      • Extended Pack Trip
        • Travel Sierra trails to hidden lakes, along quiet streams, catch fish for breakfast or dinner, a warm campfire and good company.

      • Take our hour ride to beautiful Cascade Lake, or to a scenic view overlooking Lake Tahoe and the south shore. For those who choose a more gentle ride, take our Meadow Trail skirting Lake Tahoe and Tallac Meadows.
    • 2 Hour
      • If you have more time, enjoy the spectacular scenery of Cascade Lake on a 2 hour ride around the lake.
    • All Day - reservations advisable
      • For the hearty rider, our day trips offer an opportunity to explore Desolation Wilderness. Its sparkling lakes and streams are great for fishing, swimming or just gazing upon
    • BREAKFAST & STEAK RIDES
      • Breakfast Ride - reservations necessary
        • A crisp morning ride to Cascade Lake before enjoying a hearty western breakfast cooked over on open fire.
      • Steak Ride - reservation necessary
        • Take an evening ride around Cascade Lake for steak and potatoes cooked over an open fire.
    • PACK TRIPS - reservations necessary
      • Desolation Wilderness Area, located in the Sierra Nevada, west of Lake Tahoe, is the destination of the majority of our trips.
    • FISHING TRIPS - reservations necessary
      • Enjoy the scenery of the High Sierra while riding to one of Desolation's many lakes and streams. For a day of fishing, this ride is spectacular, and has something to offer the whole family, fisherman or not.
    • EXTENDED PACK TRIPS - reservations necessary
      • This is our traveling trip where you ride guided through Desolation Wilderness, taking as many days as you wish to ride and explore the beauty of this wilderness area.
    • SPOT PACKS - reservations necessary
      • A great way to go for the whole family. You either ride or walk, but we pack your gear into the destination of your choice, and return to pick you up as desired.
